Currently, all three books in the Black Walrus series (The Black Walrus, The Black Walrus and Kevin, and The Black Walrus: Beachmaster) contain the following phrase on the copyright page:
“Publisher does not claim ownership of any mentioned brands or products.”
This phrase appears at the end of a list of brand, product, and company names mentioned in the work. The above phrase applies specifically to the brands, products, and companies on that list.
The phrase does not apply to brands, products, and companies created by the publisher either within the work or in the form of the work itself. The publisher does claim ownership of brand and product names such as “The Black Walrus”, “Alex Portobello”, “Lil’ Poochy” and others created by the publisher within the works themselves.
