Local ice cream shop and Fort Collins cornerstone Walrus Ice Cream plans to serve up books this March when it hosts children’s author Joseph Caldara at a book signing and sale event. Patrons will be able to meet the author and to buy both books and ice cream.
The Black Walrus is a three-book series of goofy superhero adventure books for kids. The series stars Alex Portobello, an inventive eighth grader with a radioactive super brain who recruits an army of walruses to fight crime.
Author Joseph Caldara holds many book signings with bookstores, schools, and other organizations, and Walrus Ice Cream seemed like a perfect fit for such an event.
“We’re super excited to have an author at Walrus Ice Cream,” said co-owner Jonathan Paugh. “We think this will be a great opportunity for our customers.”
Caldara will be at Walrus Ice Cream from 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Saturday, March 28. No RSVP is necessary. Readers and their parents are encouraged to stop by, meet the author, and delve into some fun stories while they enjoy tasty frozen treats.
